"Βενετσιάνικες Νύχτες"
στο Μέγαρο
(La Venexiana – Roberta Mameli)

Η μαγεία της μουσικής του Βιβάλντι (Vivaldi), θα ηχήσει στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, από
το φημισμένο ιταλικό σύνολο παλαιάς μουσικής "La Venexiana",
το Σάββατο 2 Φεβρουαρίου 2013 (Αίθουσα Χρήστος Λαμπράκης).
Στον κήπο των μουσικών τέρψεων του Μπαρόκ θα ξεναγηθεί το κοινό, το πρώτο σαββατοκύριακο του Φεβρουαρίου, από το φημισμένο ιταλικό σύνολο παλαιάς μουσικής La Venexiana που θα πραγματοποιήσει μία εμφάνιση στο Μέγαρο με έργα Βιβάλντι σε συνεργασία με τη φημισμένη Ιταλίδα υψίφωνο Roberta Mameli.
Το πρόγραμμά τους τιτλοφορείται «Βενετσιάνικες νύχτες».

La Venexiana ήταν ο τίτλος ενός αριστουργήματος του ιταλικού θεάτρου, μιας έξοχης αναγεννησιακής κωμωδίας ενός ανώνυμου δημιουργού, η οποία θεωρείται πρόδρομος της commedia dell' arte.
Η γλώσσα του έργου συνδυάζει λόγια και διαλεκτικά στοιχεία της τότε καθομιλουμένης, ενώ η δραματουργία αποδίδει με πειστικότητα την κοινωνία και τα ήθη εκείνης της εποχής. Έτσι, το μουσικό σύνολο La Venexiana, εμπνεόμενο από το έργο αυτό, επιχειρεί μέσα από τις ερμηνείες του να δώσει έμφαση στη θεατρικότητα, στην ποιητικότητα, στις λεπτές αποχρώσεις της γλώσσας και στην αντίθεση μεταξύ θρησκευτικού και κοσμικού στοιχείου.
Τα μέλη του πολυβραβευμένου συγκροτήματος είναι έμπειροι σολίστ εξειδικευμένοι στην παλαιά μουσική και συγκεκριμένα στα ιταλικά μαδριγάλια, αλλά τρέφουν ιδιαίτερη αγάπη για την τζαζ. Μάλιστα, ιδιαίτερη επιτυχία σημείωσε πριν από δύο χρόνια η παράστασή τους «Ο Χέντελ συναντά την τζαζ».
Οι Venexiana αποτελούνται από τους:

·         Antonio Papetti (βιολοντσέλο),
·         Alberto Lo Gatto (κοντραμπάσο)
·         Gabriele Palomba (θεόρβη).
Το σύνολο διευθύνει ο τσεμπαλίστας Claudio Cavina.

Οι Venexiana έχουν εμφανιστεί σε μεγάλα φεστιβάλ και συμφωνικά κέντρα στην Αυστρία, τη Γερμανία, την Ελβετία, την Ιταλία, το Βέλγιο, την Ισπανία, τη Γαλλία, καθώς και στη Βόρειο και Κεντρική Αμερική.
Έχουν παρουσιάσει σε όλες τις ηπείρους δημοφιλή προκλασικά έργα σε συναυλιακή, ή ημισκηνοθετημένη μορφή, μεταξύ των οποίων συγκαταλέγονται ο «Ορφέας», η «Στέψη της Ποππαίας» και η «Επιστροφή του Οδυσσέα στην πατρίδα» του Κλάουντιο Μοντεβέρντι.
Το 2010 ανέβασαν σε πρώτη παγκόσμια αναβίωση την όπερα «Αρτεμισία» του Καβάλλι. Πολλές από τις δισκογραφικές καταθέσεις τους έχουν τιμηθεί με βραβεία μουσικών εντύπων εγνωσμένου κύρους (Gramophone, Diapason d’Or, Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, κ.ά.).
Το πρόγραμμα των Venexiana περιλαμβάνει άριες του Βενετσιάνου βιρτουόζου βιολονίστα και συνθέτη Αντόνιο Βιβάλντι (Antonio Vivaldi 1678-1741) από περισσότερο ή λιγότερο γνωστές όπερές του:
·         Se in campo armato και Se mai senti  (από το λυρικό έργο “Catone in Utica” ),
·         Onde chiare (“Ercole sul Termodonte”),
·         Barbaro, più non sento και Un guardo, oh Dio! (“Motezuma”),
·         Misero Spirito Mio και Gelosia (“Ottone in Villa”),
·         Dopo un’orrida procella (“Griselda”),
·         Ah, fuggi rapido (“Orlando Furioso”),
·         Lo seguitai felice (“L’Olimpiade”).

Το κοινό θα έχει επίσης τη σπάνια ευκαιρία να ακούσει τέσσερα ορχηστρικά μέρη από τις όπερες “La Senna Festeggiante”, “La Griselda” και “L’Olimpiade”.
Τα φωνητικά μέρη θα τραγουδήσει η υψίφωνος Roberta Mameli, μια λυρική ερμηνεύτρια με σπουδές μονωδίας και βιολιού σε σημαντικά ωδεία της Ιταλίας, ευρύ ρεπερτόριο που εκτείνεται από το Μπαρόκ έως τον 20ό αιώνα, μακρά σκηνική πείρα σε ευρωπαϊκά θέατρα υπό την καθοδήγηση διακεκριμένων αρχιμουσικών και σκηνοθετών και αξιόλογη δισκογραφία.

LA VENEXIANA, fouded by Claudio Cavina, is today the most important madrigal group actually in activity. In styling to the anonymous renassaince comedy from it's named , LA VENEXIANA aims to incorporate into its musical interpretation the theatrically, attention to language in all of its subtlety, and exultation of contrasts between refined and popular, sacred and profane, that characterize our culture today.
Since the beginning of 1998 LA VENEXIANA collaborates excusively with the Spanish label GLOSSA.
LA VENEXIANA’s collection, nominated Il Madrigale Italiano, included madrigals book by Monteverdi, Luzzaschi, Luca Marenzio, D'India, De Wert, won International Prix as PRIX CECILIA 1999, PRIX CINI 2000, PRIX AMADEUS 2000, GRAMOPHONE AWARD 2001, CANNES CLASSICAL AWARD 2002, GRAND PRIX DU DISQUE ACADEMIE CHARLES CROSS 2003, AMADEUS'S CD OF THE YEAR 2001, DEUTSCHSCHALLPLATTENKRITIK 2005 and 2006 and CHOC of YEAR 2006: all these proclaimed LA VENEXIANA as the "New Orpheus of the Italian madrigal repertoire".
 In 2007/8 LA VENEXIANA performed on stage the Ballo delle Ingrate and Era la Notte (production of Paola Reggiani) at Festival Van Vlanderen, Vevey, Hamburg, Cremona Festival Monteverdi, Eilat, Madrid Teatro Real, Potsdam Sansoucci, Amsterdam Concertbegouw.
On 2008 LA VENEXIANA concluded the recording of Monteverdi Edition, that offered as the most imporant news of the Year .
 The Grand Tour with L'ORFEO by Monteverdi was a great success in London, Melk, Regensburg, Lyon, Weingarten, Jerez, Brugge, Udine, Modena, St. Gallen, Viterbo, Eilat, and on 2008/2009 will be presented in Sablé, Chatilly, Seattle.
This recording was CHOC de Le Monde de la Musique , Orfeo's First Choice of BBC Classical Music and Gramophone's Editor Choice 2007 and the GRAMOPHONE AWARD 2008 (Baroque Opera).
 The New Opera Project of LA VENEXIANA was INCORONATIONE DI POPPEA , production of 2008, it recorded by Glossa, rappresented in Herne, Paris (Cité de la Musique), Regensburg, Milan, Perigueux.
Our news projects: in 2010 Artemisia by Francesco Cavalli (Hannover Herrenhausen and Festival Montpellier/Radio France) and for 2011 The Return of Ulysse by Monteverdi (Regensburg Tage Alte Musik, Paris Cité de la Musique et Concertgebouw Amsterdam). On 2010 will start the new recording project: the Cavalli Opera Edition, reconding by Glossa Madrid. Round M’, Monteverdi meet Jazz was full of enthusiastical reviews in all Word. For 2012 wil be available the first Handel Opera: Rodrigo (1707).
 New repertoires will be performe from La Venexiana: Opera’s Arias, Scarlatti Oratorios (Cain; I 5 Profeti), Bach Cantatas, Handel and Vivaldi music, and a…Handel Jazz (will be performed in Halle Handel Festipiele) : all programs that explain the unmistak style of La Venexiana.
LA VENEXIANA has established a new style in Italian early music performance: a warm, truly Mediterranean blend of textual declamation, rhetorical colour and harmonic refinement.

Roberta Mameli, soprano
Born in Rome, Roberta Mameli, graduated in singing at the Conservatoire “Nicolini” in Piacenza and in violin at the Scuola Civica di Cremona. She attended masterclasses with Konrad Richter, Bernadette Manca di Nissa, Ugo Benelli, Claudio Desderi, Enzo Dara.
She made her debut at a very young age singing Mercury in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at the Opera Theatre in Alessandria, under the baton of Edoardo Müller and the direction of Graziella Sciutti.
Her concert repertoire ranges from baroque to 20th century music, including: Vivaldi’s Gloria, Fauré’s Requiem, Exultate jubilate, and C-minor Mass  by Mozart, Laudate pueri by Caldara, Matthäus-Passion and B-minor Mass by Bach, Messiah, Dixit Dominus and Laudate Pueri by Handel, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Orff’s Carmina Burana.
She is regularly invited in prestigious theatres and music halls such as: Konzerthaus in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique in Paris, Velodrom Theatre in Regensburg, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, Teatro La Pergola in Florence, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Teatro Sociale and Teatro Bibiena in Mantua, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, Teatro Comunale in Modena, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan. She sang under the baton of important conductors such as: Claudio Abbado, Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, Fabio Bonizzoni, Filippo Maria Bressan, Daniele Callegari, Claudio Cavina, Enzo Dara, Corrado Rovaris, Tiziano Severini, Jeffrey Tate.
Much in demand in the baroque repertoire, Roberta Mameli has worked with many baroque ensembles, such as Ensemble Sacro & Profano, Aurora Ensemble, Bizzarrie Armoniche, L’Arte dell’Arco, La Risonanza, Ensemble Inégal, La Venexiana, Accademia Bizantina, performing in many festivals all around Europe: Styriarte Graz, Grandezze e Meraviglie Festival in Modena, Freiburg Festival, Regensburg Festival, La Folle Journée in Nantes, Bruges Festival, Utrecht Festival, Dortmund Festival, Leipzig, Postdam, Hannover, Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, Festival de Royaumont, Les Heures des Bernardins Festival in Paris, Trigonale in Cologne, Fränkische Sommer in Nuremberg, International Festival in Santander.
Among her past engagements, it is worth mentioning: Paisiello’s Il fanatico in berlina in Mantua, Enzo Dara directing; Mozart’s La finta giardiniera (Sandrina) by Mozart in Modena, Genoa and Saint Malo; Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda and Il Ballo delle Ingrate by Monteverdi at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona and at the Regensburg Festival; Cherubini’s Ifigenia in Aulide by Cherubini with the Orchestra Arturo Toscanini under the baton of Tiziano Severini in Parma and Modena; Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista (Herodiade) with Enrico Gatti at the festivals of Utrecht, Viterbo and La Chaise-Dieu; Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea (Nerone) with Claudio Cavina in Hannover, Regensburg, Paris (Cité de la musique) and Milan; Orfeo ed Euridice (Proserpina) by Fux with Jordi Savall at the Styriarte Festival in Graz; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (Prologo, Musica, Euridice) at the Santander Festival.
Future plans include:, L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Nerone) in Perigueux and Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (Minerva) in Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Paris (Cité de la musique) and Regensburg, Cavalli’s Erismena with La Venexiana and Claudio Cavina; Pergolesi’s L’Olimpiade (Aristea) by Pergolesi in Krakow with Accademia Bizantina and Ottavio Dantone; Handel’s Ariodante (Ginevra) at the Händel-Festspiele in Karlsruhe under Michael Hofstetter.
She recorded for labels such as Bongiovanni, Pardon, Nibiru, Glossa and RAI 3. Her recent discography includes: Monteverdi’s Madrigals and L’incoronazione di Poppea with La Venexiana (Glossa), Zelenka’s Il diamante with Ensemble Inégal (Nibiru) and the solo album “’Round M: Monteverdi meets Jazz”.
